bright tomorrows

Despite the last week having been less-than-satisfactory on a number of counts, I woke this morning feeling surprisingly positive.

There was also a phrase – brand new bright tomorrow – going round and round in my mind.

And then I realised that today is the first day of summer.

It didn’t take long for the rest of the tune to filter through into memory and have me humming along in the kitchen as I prepared breakfast.

Now, over 12 hours later, the “ear worm” is still repeating. But perhaps “Bring me sunshine” is as good a sentiment as any to mark the solstice.
