From the crimson feathers of the Japanese maple to the bright eyes lurking in the hedgerows, there are so many things to see in nature’s autumnal colours.

Ash keys

The ash tree offers keys to unlock new worlds.

Maps left on maple leaves when the chlorophyll fades.

A scribble of willowherb against a tracing paper sky.
 
 
Hornbeam seeds turning colour

Hornbeam and sycamore send their seeds yellowcoptering through the air.
 
 
grey squirrel

Sunlight shines through a squirrel’s ears, turning them the colour of autumn leaves.
 
 
pink autumn leaf

Leaves as pink as crinkled coral.
