At the business networking meeting I attend each week, we were recently talking about what we’ll do when we are allowed to meet up in person again. The group started just before lockdown last year, so we had a few face-to-face meetings before we were obliged to reorganise and meet on Zoom.

Those first few meetings were held over breakfast at a hotel. We’d gather together just before 7am and were usually finished by 9am, though some of us would then order more coffee and continue the conversations. Essentially, though, the meetings took place outside the business day.

in vino veritas

One of the problems with trying to write a blog or participate on social media is that it’s not always easy to think of anything to say. And even when you do have ideas, it’s all too easy to look at all the noise and start to wonder whether anyone anywhere could possibly be interested.

When the world news is full of death and damnation, a few pretty pictures and a light-hearted comment or two can hardly compete.

Christmas reflections

Different people celebrate Christmas very differently. And of course some people don’t celebrate at all. Personally, I’d tend towards the latter.

I loathe the commercialisation and waste associated with mass festivities. I don’t own a Christmas jumper, or tinsel earrings. I think family gatherings are over-rated. And I don’t see the point in waiting for a specific date to give gifts.

sunrise; sunset

In fact, I suppose the title should be sunset; sunrise, as the only sunset here is the very first image (above).

As for the four photos below, well, I think the phrase I’m looking for is, “one of these things is not like the others.”

They are certainly all magnificent sunrises: and I’m pretty sure they were all taken in February, although not all this year.
